Epic BI Reporting and Analytics Developer/Analyst for Custody

OBJECTIVE:

This consultant will provide end-to-end delivery of reporting and analytics solutions in the Epic Cogito Clarity Custody Health space, especially on Ambulatory, Inpatient, Regulatory / State required fillings, Quality and related metrics. 

The role requires consultant-level communication skills, the ability to coalesce related requests and offer solutions that satisfy multiple requirements, and Software Development Life Cycle discipline: gathering & documenting and confirming requirements gathering, designing solution, obtaining Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) signoff, coding, testing/validation, UAT, & documentation.

TYPICAL DELIVERABLES:

  • Develop and deploy Custody-focused reports and dashboards 
  • Validate, modify, and document Radar automatic & custom SQL metrics 
  • Write stored procedures for clinical reporting requests for use in Cogito SQL templates 
  • Create Radar components from Cogito-SQL reports and metric-framework 
  • Update Code and Dashboard metrics based on new regulatory and operational requests 
  • Lead projects 
  • Facilitate meetings with Custody operations and leadership to gather requirements for new requests and enhancements 
  • Estimate time needed to complete project 
  • Communicate to stakeholders inside and outside of analytics, providing updates and setting expectations  
  • Direct regulatory agency monitors to reporting outputs and provide guidance on how to use them

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Minimum 3 years of Epic Clarity Data Model (EpicCare Ambulatory, Inpatient (IP)) analytics development. 
  • 5+ years of SQL query and stored procedure development experience.  
  • Working knowledge of Epic tools such as Slicer Dicer, Cogito SQL, Radar 
  • Strong ability to work directly with TSS managers and operational clinical leaders, project office, clinic staff and other stakeholders 
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively with Epic, and County Epic application builders to capture official workflow documentation efficiently and accurately 
  • Strong communication skills to document and communicate with analytics and other TSS management on status, risks and issues 
  • Ability to transition work, train, and provide mentorship to junior developers on best practices, perform SQL code reviews, and peer reviews of deliverables. 
  • Ability to follow Enterprise Software Development Life Cycle standards for Unit Test, Peer Test/Review, SME Validation and production migration and publishing.
  • Strong experience creating Stored Procedures with Clarity data in a clinical setting 
  • Consultant level ability to adapt to changing workflows, and communicate to leadership changes in data based on workflow adherence 
  • Epic Radar Dashboards created from Cogito SQL, Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer or Metric Framework 
  • Epic Inpatient experience: Admissions, Flowsheets, Discharge Medication Reconciliation, Quality metrics 
  • Epic Ambulatory experience: Visits, Consults, Orders, Groupers 
  • Experience creating Business Intelligence outputs in a Custody/Jail setting  

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certification in Epic Clarity Data Model/Clinical or Financial (or legacy equivalents)
